Create Your Jewish Legacy

The visionary It’s Your Legacy (IYL) program has been responsible for building a culture of legacy giving in the Twin Cities. As a result of IYL, endowment dollars raised help ensure that vital programs have perpetual funding to flourish in good times and bad, and that non-profits, schools, and synagogues are able to provide evolving, innovative programs as community needs shift and evolve. Your legacy helps future generations continue building Jewish life in the Twin Cities and beyond.

The bequests established through IYL are inspiring examples of l’dor v’dor, the passing of values from one generation to the next. The MN JCF offers endowment options for legacy planning with the utmost confidentiality.

What is a Legacy Plan?

By providing for non-profits through your will, trust, retirement assets, or other means, your legacy gift is a sacred covenant with the Jewish people to support the Jewish future by:

  • Preserve our Jewish values, culture, and heritage

  • Secure the Jewish future and keep our community strong for generations

  • Care for our elderly, educate our children, and empower future leaders

  • Express your love for your children and your community

Ways to Leave a Jewish Legacy

  • Bequest in Will or Trust: A charitable bequest is a gift that is made as part of a will or trust to a nonprofit organization.

  • IRA or Retirement Plan: IRA or retirement plan

  • You may donate part of your retirement assets to charity, which could provide meaningful tax advantages.

  • Life Insurance Policy: Insurance can be an effective and convenient asset to give more to the charities you love.

  • Charitable Gift Annuity (CGA) enables you to create a legacy —and receive dependable payments for life.
